Are there wheelslip animations for the steam locomotives in TS2013?

Is there anyway to make them? I mean, MSTS even had wheelslip animations. And I just saw the release video for the LMS 3F Jinty on Railsimulardotcom's youtube page. How did they make them?

This might help you. (Obviously not related to a US loco)

Well I guess you can beat me up. Never expected K4 and Connie. Someone hit me or Image

I did use the Gtrax and 2 V1 IHH and none showed. So I guess I didn't know these 2 do have wheelslip animation.

I'm not entirely sure, but it might have something to do with including the rotation of the wheels in the animation you export for the running gear animation attached to the main driver in the bogie blueprint for the drivers. The drivers will rotate even without them being included deliberately in the animation - RW does it for you - but perhaps then it doesn't do the wheelslip. Apart from including the rotation of the drivers as I mentioned, I didn't have to do anything else special to get the wheelslip to work. The sounds, on the other hand, do require some extra fiddling to make them work.

You might find something of interest in this pdf that 's got a piece with Sean Harris on wheelslip http://railworksmagazine.co.uk/issues/DecIssue14.pdf ,also take a look at the anims on Mikes new Jinty, wheelslip is really nice work on it,best in RW without doubt. There was,I think, more @ UKTS ,( got some pages and messages somewhere on the mess that is my train drives)I'm reasonably sure that Kali or Andi has some interesting posts in the old RW2 forums.Your best bet though is maybe contacting Sean,or,at least, looking at Leander. Can do the same with early diesels that did not feature the modern computer controlled anti-slip for those with an interest.

Huh! Well blow me down. Our US steam didn't do that before I guess that's new for me. That was cool.

I know right! Whoever found out how to do this is a genius. I wonder if this in a patch or something. I've never seen this on a Black 5, or any default steam engine before. I wish we could have that kind of animations on all of the steam engines.

Ok, I found out why that train had wheelslip. It's a mod in a payware Black 5 sound pack that fixes the steam loco's bogies. On this thread for the release of the sound pack on UKTS, http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... &sk=t&sd=a , user ChrisBarnes says, "No, just corrected the silly Kuju mistake of setting the pony truck to be the driving bogie and the main frames as dead." That explain why the pilot trucks spin and the drivers don't. Also, to have wheelslip you must go into the Engine folder, and open the XML file. Next, change the friction levels to around 0.2500, and your're all set. More around editing wheelslip is on page 2 of the UKTS thread.

I thought I'd done wheelslip already in the Connie. I tried it out just now in the Consolidatin Power scenario, and sure enough, if you open the throttle wide at the start, you get wheelslip. The only thing is that the wheels spin, but not all that fast. They'd probably spin faster just by lowering that friction value more (but then you'd have even more trouble climbing up to Gallitzin).

That is a great demonstration - those new Brit sound packs are fantastic and a great demonstration of the wheel slip. It is just a pity there is no real life US sound sources to do something similar, although having said that, the Connie is still something special :D

!*cheers*!
