Two(now up to four!) new additions to my NEC...

So after seeing another great tutorial from Marlyman (thanks again sir!), I now can paint engines for my NEC. Naturally, there's two I wanted....

Image

I still have a lot to detail, and I really want Comet coaches(Comet II's and higher) and EMUs (Like NJT's Arrows and SEPTA's Silverliner V's), but maybe down the road I'll learn how to make rolling stock from scratch.

Update: Took the Class 377 and turned them into a variant of the SEPTA Silverliner V!
Heres pics of the three together:

Now the fourth is the Class 377 NJT! The NJT coaches and NJT Genesis is from Marleyman

How about the class166? I haven't bought London to Brighton so I can use those. In my opinion just throw a bell and a random horn on it and perfect !!*ok*!!

Theoretically, you could paint the BR101 in NJT and it bears a striking resemblance to the ALP44, besides the cab of course... just a thought if you're up for it...

I didnt like the fact that train didnt have an end storm door. The 377 has a good modern EMU look that resembles an American ENU. Id use these for MTA-Metro North and MTA-LIRR emu repaints as well if Rw has an add-on for east of NY Penn. And as far as the horn and bell, i wish! i dont know how to edit the sounds.

ive thought about this myself. And I believe you mean the ALP46. the ALP 44 is the older one that resembles the AEM7, which was my first reskin in this project. This may happen later on maybe.....

for now im finishing up the two 377 reskins. This is what i have done for the NJT version:
Image
note, this is the exact lcd font used in NJT's Comet IV, V and bi-level (VI) fleets! Its available for free online! im using all 26 spots (same number as the default 377s) and you be able to set the signs when making scenarios using the came codes. Ill be providing a list of which sign is which when theyre ready for release.
im currently setting up for the septa version of the signs on the 377. after those, ill be reskinning the septa passenger cars to have NJT's updated livery (like on my NJT 377) and just might do those APL 46s. But the Apl 46 reskin my be a separate release down the road. I gotta see if i get a feel for it!

i will, however, post some scenarios including all of this equipment. Ill be posting atleast one standard, and one free roam scenario, as well as a TestTrak free roam with all the commuter consists for you to try out around the loop!(as well as the Amtrak consists! Ive rearranged the Acela Express consist to more resemble the actual train. RW never really seems to get anything right!)
ill keep posting updates and pics on the progress.

well, i tried opening the br101 with both rs bin and rw tools and neither will let me open up the texture files for editing. and yes, ive unlocked the route and assets in TS13. I may not be able to edit APL 46s.

This is really awesome. By the way, I don't know much about the 377, but doesn't it only work with 3rd rail power? Does it have a pantograph?

Theres a middle car that does have a pantograph. When assembled within a consist, it works like the MTA-Metro North Railroad's New Haven Line M2/M4/M6 and new M8 railcars which also feeds off a third rail and switches to Pantograph. I have the SEPTA in a 3 car set (middle car has pan) and the NJT set up in 4 car sets (2 middle cars have the pans) and usually set up 8 to 12 car consists but mostly i use 8 cars. (4-4 trains)

BTW, SEPTA signs are done!

Ive only made signs for the R7 trenton route and two R8 signs. I have made both with the old routes (pre 2010) and with no route-just terminals (post 2010) for use since when SEPTA received the first Silverliner V's the signs still had the old route names programmed (R1, R2, etc) then recenetly removed the route names. Ive also included the shown SEPTA program and one reading "No Passengers" There are spots for more signs so i will be able to add more if needed.

So cool. It'll make scenarios SO much better. There's not JUST Amtrak on the NEC :)
