Guage creation

Ok yall,

Basically I am pretty new to the whole desighn thing. Whith that said I am looking to do a little work. Here is what I will attempt to do (albeit with my lack of knowlege): I want to create a realistic guage for the ES44AC. I want to create a guage that will allow you to interact with the various functions. Basically I want to create a guage to fit that will be more than just a speedometer. Problem is I dont know where to start. I have a systems manual for the ES44DC and will use the info there to obtain the train info. I just need yalls help to get me rolling.
