Repaint problems with ES44AC

Unread postby PamBrooker » Fri Jul 20, 2012 6:00 pm

If someone could give me some advice or help ( or both ) I would greatly appreciate it because i frankly dont know what i'm doing incorrectly..
I Came across some images of the Rock Island Heritage ES44AC and thought it would make a very cool looking livery. So I did the usual folder copy and rename, dropped the bin file onto Serz and changed the name of the resulting xml file.. Then I edited it in just the same way i did for the E7 i did using Britkits E-7. Saved the file, dropped it onto Serz and got a new bin file, and opened up rw to see if it would show up on the list.. It didnt.. So I deleted the folder, and started the process all over again, only this time using MDurdans painting tutorial. I did get a little confused, but only because with the tutorial not working for me i started questioning. I looked for other tutorials and found one that looked pretty good, but it didnt work either, and after at least 8 tries, i'm finding myself even more confused and frustrated.. Could someone please hold my hand and babysit me through this process?? Perhaps even look at my xml and instruct me on what i'm doing incorrectly?? it would be incredibly appreciated..
Thanks
Pam

RW Tools makes this process much easier.

i used those too. still no joy.. Notepad/RWTools/RSBinTool.. all of them. it just flat plain wont work.. verrrrry frustrating, and ego killing.. truthfully, if feels like the only choice ive got, is not to do it, which sux because the RI Heritage is a gorgeous livery.. Every bit as much so as the mopac livery i did a couple years back. And the es44 is prototypical as well..

Never mind guys. No worries. I got it working. !*YAAA*! I have no clue what fixed it.. But i figure it works for now and i'll re-learn as i go along.. Maybe someday i'll be able to break the six hour mark for editing the bin file and then it'll be time to celebrate !*roll-laugh*!

Pam, would you consider updating your gorgeous E7 MP? Or, if you wish, send me the texture file and I'll be willing to move it onto the updated E7 or E8.
