Bogey Stiffness

Hi everyone. I also posted this question over on UK Trainsim in hopes of finding someone with a solution.

My wood chip hoppers, when loaded, have a pronounced tilt to the outside of curves. I've tried lowering the bogey Y pivot and increasing the bogey stiffness but so far nothing seems to work. Can anyone give any suggestions? The number that is used for the bogey stiffness, 8e+009 is somewhat confusing to me. Would adjusting the damping help as well? Can anyone suggest any particular numbers I need to plug in?

Seems realistic, when those hoppers come through Apex on 742, you'll bet they're swaying, and they lean into the curve when they switch over from the siding to the main. *!!wink!!*

True true. I'm sure running them over super-elevated curves will reduce it even more unless the physics is completely jacked. It just seemed a little too pronounced in game.

LOL, oh trust me, I know from experience. I remember hitting sun kinks, soft spots and just bad areas in general that would just about throw you out of your chair and into the cab floor. I remember hitting one soft spot/mud hole so hard that we knocked a traction motor off line.

You work for CSX? Ever worked the "Circle line" in NC? (I assumed it was the A Line, I was wrong... *!embar*! Heard the crews call it the Circle Line for the first time last week)

Not anymore. I did in the early to mid 2000s. Just in Alabama and Georgia, Manchester to Birmingham, Atlanta and Waycross.

Oh, alright. Yall on CSX seem to be real nice folks, least the guys in Apex. Thanks for your work in Railworks, and in real life.

If the tilting only occurs when loaded, I would try lowering the load's pivot point. Very nice car by the way.

Thanks for the suggestion. I actually solved the issue by lowering the chance of derailment. Evidently that number raises and lowers the center of gravity. Lowering it slightly solved my tilt problem but if you lower it too much it will tilt to the inside of the curve.

@csxgp38-2 - Thanks. I really enjoyed working with most everyone. There was only a handful I didn't care for. One in particular we wouldn't converse our whole trip unless it was related to the run lol. Other than that, everyone was great!
