Wooden Gondola Cinder Load

I'm trying to create a cinder load for Michael Stephan's 30ft Wooden Gondola for a new scenario on Gary Gardner's Cimarron & Pacific. I've created a new 30ft_cinders.TgPcDx graphic in the Loads subdirectory, but I don't know how to edit a copy of the .bin file to use the new load. I do know how to edit the .bin files of repaints with new roadnames, etc., using RW Tools. When I open one of the .bin files, there doesn't seem to be any references to one of the load TgPcDx files or one of the three GeoPcDx files. Can anyone offer suggestions?

Hi,

You'll need to edit the GeoPcDx files (which you can open with RW_Tools too) to change the load textures. There are three Geo files in the gondola folder, 30/40ft-gon-1 through -3.
Car #1 is coal, 2 is gravel, 3 is sand. Open file #1, and look for this line:

<e d:type="cDeltaString">..\..\loads\[00]30ft_coal</e>


This is the texture you need to swap out. BTW, "..\..\loads\" tells the game to go two folders up and then into the "loads" folder when looking for the texture, this works like good old DOS.

So when you want to put your new cinder texture directly in the TEXTURES subfolder of your repaint, to make the packaging easier, you should edit this line to look like this:

<e d:type="cDeltaString">[00]30ft_cinder</e>

(Assuming your cinder load texture is called "30ft_cinder", and is located in the "Textures" folder of your repaint.

Thanks for your help, Michael. Actually, I had put the new cinders texture (30ft_cinders.TgPcDx) in the "Loads" subdirectory with the other load textures. Hope to work on my project this afternoon.

I've finished the 30-40ft gondolas with cinder loads and am pleased. As soon as the upload feature goes back online, I will send them to Hawk. Thanks again for your help and your awesome models, Michael. I don't know where RW would be without your contributions.
