Help!
Almost done with my first reskin and I am stuck.
I need the two number boards on the rear of the locomotive to be blank and black inside.
I still need the number boards there, just without the numbers.
I also need to keep the two up front with the numbers inside and to keep the cab number on the side.
This locomotive will only have ONE, four digit unit number.
I would appreciate any assistance.
I am using Paintshop Pro 4X and RW Tools.
Thanks!!

PapaXpress has made a blanking plate for the number boards. I'll ask him if he's ready to release it.

er... I guess. You just need to remember that the plate I made was designed for the Brindely GP15. So it may not fit on other models. I was not planing to make it part of the toolbox I am putting together, but you can free to pull it off the UPY-588 here in the download section and try it for yourself. I will help as I can but right now I am on the other side of the world until Friday.

I have the number boards blanked out, simply by painting the texture black.
It leaves what I want, which is the actual board on the locomotive, but shows blank, which is also what I want.
My question now is how do I blank out just the REAR numberboards and leave the front two displaying the unit number?
Or is this even possible?
Thanks!

That was the same problem we had with the 588. The number boards are shared between front and back, so I couldn't black them out, I had to create a plate in 3DC to cover them.

Thanks to your "plates", I have the numbers blocked but it also hides the gaskets around the board.
I may just need to do some more adjusting.
Not sure if I can block the number and still have the gasket show too.
Thank you to EVERYONE who has helped me on this.
I appreciate the support.

The gasket is tricky. I was lucky and the GP15 had it raised, so I needed to get the angle correct so it would lay flat against the body and the gasket would poke through. If the gasket is not raised, then you can paint it on.
There is one trick you should be aware of for future work. The alpha layer is a drop out. This allows you to "weather" the plate as if it were painted and the paint was fading or peeling, so you can see the old number board underneath. I got this idea from looking at another UPY yard dog (wish I could find the picture).
Glad it worked out for you. Perhaps I should include it in the toolbox since you found it useful.

My joy was premature.
How do adjust the angle?
The gaskets are raised, so that is not a problem.
I am "tweeking" the X, Y and Z coordinates.
Thanks!

there is a way to do it, but I will need to get at my machine at home to figure it out (its not simple). The plates I made, I adjusted in 3DC not in the BIN file.
