Is a ditchlight out or does this line use flashing ditches?

I thought all ditch lights were flashing.

No, UP has them steady. Actually there is a thread about this topic somewhere here, where people were calling out who did and did not use flashing ditch lights.

F3, really? That could easily be an F7 with different paint. Unless it's the grills on the side that make a difference. Still on of my favorite designs of passenger engines. !!*ok*!!

F3 A & B units were purchased in 1949. A units #501-508, B units 551-554. FEC’s F3’s were late in production of this model and had the same outward appearance of the new F7 units with stainless steel grills. All units were retired by 1971.

Our Example of the F3 A and B are custom Athearn.

Help, the more time I spend on the internet I'm shrinking!

The F-3 went through several iterations while it was in production. Some had three port holes and some two, the later one's are the two holers I believe..

Sadly 3DC does not allow me to make "portable holes" (what a useful item to have too *!!wink!!* )

There actually was an F3 that got the 'unofficial' designation of F5. it had all the external looks of a Phase 1 F7,but still had the F3 prime movers and generators. The 'North Coast Limited' loco set I did was supposed to represent these.
