Interesting paint scheme, but I would rather have some CB&Q repaints of the Gtrax passenger cars. I would like to run the Texas Zephyr on the Castle Rock route.

Something I've been working on as well.

I've taken the original bump map textures for the Cornell GP38-2 and created a new paint template from them. I'll put them up for everyone when they are completed.

OK Harry, dish me the pictures... I've done the E7 for it No?

According to this link: http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,185678

There are a few fonts that are close to SP's lettering, but they are not exact.

SP, like most other railroads (with the exception of some of the newer roads) did not use an existing font (or typeface, to use the older terminology) but had one created for them. Often, it was just some slight modification to an existing typeface. Of course, different type foundries offered their own versions of particular typefaces, which were often copyrighted, so they had to make minor changes to them to avoid the copyright problems.

That said; you could try and get close with one of these fonts, found in the 500 Fonts pack available here in the library.

or maybe the Subway font, which I believe is a default Windows font.

You could even try a combination of 2 fonts. Use one font for the 4 and one for the 8. Something like this maybe?

Image5.jpg

The 4 is Lapland Extra Bold sized at 48 and the 8 is Subway sized at 42, but the 8 could have been sized at 43 or 44 maybe.

Mike, my first request. When can we get an AWVR 2106? Yeah, I know you know the movie. I won't ask you for an AC4400 AVWR. That was 777. !*salute*!

Firstly, Did you mean AWVR 1206 (the SD40-2 that Denzel Washington drove)? Second, if so, you do know about the pack on this page don't you (14th down, no picture)?

Thanks! I decided to try something new this time and I'm creating a bump map for the E7 to make a new zephyr locomotive.

Very much a WIP, because so far, the correct color is eluding me, and I need to do a bit more on the bump (soften the ribs and harden the rest) map... I was amazed that the model does draw on the extruded surface properly. The nameplate can be Burlington, SIlver Zephyr (actually an E6), Texas Zephyr, etc.

Yes, I know about both AWVR skins. I'm just not having any luck with reskinning. Can't seem to get them to work. Followed the readme to the letter, they just don't like me I guess. !*don-know!*
