Hi all. I've just been trying to do a quick re-paint of the Gtrax Berkshire and tender, but the tender texture is proving to be extremely trying. I've opened the gx_berk_tend02 texture up with RWTools, edited with Photo Shop, but I am unable to get it installed back into Railworks without crashing serz and upsetting RWTools. The TgPcDx file converts to DDS just fine, but it opens up at a native 2048x2048 resolution. RWTools shows it as a DXT3 ARGB - 8bps - explicit alpha file with 10 mipmaps; and after editing, I save it as such. Using RWTools, I attempt to convert it back to a TgPcDx file and that's when serz crashes. I have also tried reducing the file to 1024x1024, and if I correct the xml file to reflect the size change and also delete the folder's Blueprint file, I can get it converted and installed back into Railworks. However the model texture only then ends up distorted, because the texture is too small to wrap over the model correctly. I am tired and out of ideas now.

I am hoping that someone here has a solution or can point me in the right direction to finding one. Anything at all will be deeply appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Simplest solution is to use RSBinTools if you can find it - last version was 0.9 iirc.

I am having the same problem with the Berkshire Tender. The RSBinTool file is available at UKTrainSim. It is listed as a utility file in the Rail Simulator Section. I am trying to download now. Very long wait unless you are a member. May give up for now and try this evening.. I have had best luck with their library there around 10 PM Eastern time.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I will try downloading RSBinTool tonight and see if that solves my dilemma. If not, I will get a hold of Rick at Gtrax for help and I'll keep you posted.

Well I managed to DL RSBinTool and after playing around with it for a few minutes, I was able to get the tender texture imported into Railworks successfully. I'm still not sure on how I was able to get this to work exactly, but I hope to become more familiar with RSBinTool after I experiment with it some. It's quite a bit different than RWTools. Anyway, for anyone else trying to repaint the Berk tender, use RSBinTool's DDSTool, and export the texture you're wanting to replace. In this case it's [gx_berk_tend02.TgPcDx]. Make changes. Save it as a DDS file. Import your repainted texture.
