Query for Dual Horns and Bin File for Power Change

Unread postby PullmanCar » Sat Sep 24, 2022 2:39 pm

Recently I have been finishing some EMD skins I had done some time ago, several being various Southern GP38s, which are fitted with two horns, one on either end. They are modelled, but not usable in game. I know some developers, such as Steam Sounds Supreme have created an additional horn or whistle, controllable from Shift+Space for instance, or Ctrl+Space, with the main horn on Space. Might anyone here be able to tell me how to set up such in the .him and .xml scripting? Say a P3 on one end and a P5 on the other, or an A200 on one end and a P5 on the other. Thank you.

Another question is about horsepower, if I want to convert a GP9 into a GP7 or even a GP18 (some time ago I purchased a Brazilian GP18, but it had coupling issues so I uninstalled it, and the locomotive is no longer available to repurchase, so unless someone here has it, and would be willing to share it, I will have to make do with a GP9. I seem to recall the GP18 had a 2 tone red paint Brazilian scheme similar to GM&O, and maybe an American livery or two). I know someone used the VNH SD9 as the IRM SD24 and tweaked the horsepower, might someone be able to talk me through altering an RSC GP9 down to a GP7, as well as another skin with increased power as a GP18?

Thank you. I certainly would be happy to share the units once they are complete, but they have been waiting in this. The GP7 that needs downrated is an ex-Army one, with the A200, and I have a variety of GP38/38-2s, from TVRM’s TAG 80, 5109, and SOU 5000, to Lake State ones, and a 4 for a fictional Michigan operation from a route I am doing. Speaking of which I still have all the IPH E units I never shared, so if anyone would be interested in those (and matching cars from the G-Trax Set and Empire Builder) let me know. I have IC, IPH, IPH as CofG, and E9 variants.

Thank you.
