Clinchfield physics and sound modifications

Unread postby AmericanSteam » Sat Feb 06, 2021 7:08 pm

Lately I have been running Clinchfield and I find, in my opinion, that the sound and physics leaves a lot to be desired. They seem to be the same mediocre recycled sounds. Is there anyone working on any modifications for the F7, GP7, GP38, or the SD40 for this route or some reskins of better equipment? Can someone offer any suggestions. Most modding I have done has resulted in utter failures.

The SD40 being based on the default Kuju one, I use simer4's "EMD SD40 Sound Pack" for engine sounds and bnsfsubdivision's "SD40 RS3L" pack for horn sounds, both available here in the RWA library.

I have a script that applies these sounds to all my SD40-2 packs based on the Kuju default: SD40WnPack01 SD40BnPack01 SD40CnPack01 SD40HnPack01 SD40SfPack01 SD40BnPack02 SD40BnsfPack01 DonnerPass ShermanHill Clinchfield and I'm probably forgetting some recent ones.

I have a GP38 sound pack from Krellnut but I don't know if it fits the CRR GP38.
I'm comfortable with the GP7 and F7 sounds.
For wagons I use Buzz456's pack for Krellnut's wagon sounds. I'm putting it in the RWA library as soon as I finish typing this.

Physics: the SD40 brakes need fixing. The minimal application for train brake is 60 PSI !
Fixing this depends on whether the brakes are controlled by the engine script or by the engine blueprint.
