Kit Bashing Locomotives

After quite an extended break from the sim and defecting to my side of the pond for a while i thought i'd try repainting a loco.
What started as wanting a more Southern Pacific style plow on the front ended up with me raiding the files of anything i could to keep adding the parts i needed without having to custom build anything.
So far I've added a plow from the Britkits GP7 payware pack which is more angled at the top edge like the SP ones.
The aircon unit and antenna box comes from Eyein12s B40-8.
The light clusters and nose light all come from Great Northerners SP SD7 pack.
The repaint itself is far from finished with a lot of work needed to overcome some of the mapping issues and to paint some of the lamps either grey or red as needed along with all the handrails, numbers, and bogies etc.
Because some of the textures point to another model in DTMs NS Big 7s pack I've had to edit the GEO to get things back where they should be without effecting the other model.
Unfortunately because of this i can't share the model when finished.
Has anyone else tried adding details from other engines instead of making them yourself?

Great concept. Lots of possibilities.

Great work! You can share the repaint, but it is a slight pain in the rear. The easiest way to do it is to copy the text in the amended geo file, paste it into something simple like notepad and in the instructions, tell the user to replace the text in the geo they place in the repaint folder with what is in the text file.

I did something similar for my BLE 0-6-0 repaints, but I had the user find the specific lines inside the geo and told them what to replace it with.

I had thought about doing that so it is one way to do it.
The annoying thing is that all the right files are in the right places but the geo points to another model in the pack.
There is a few other things I'll need to change or move about.
I think the repaint will be for the hardcore file shufflers only *!greengrin!*

I can write a script for modifying a geo file.
Sadly not much time to do so. But maybe if the change is small.

The change (at the minute) would be the references to the C36 and change them to B36. I think I've only changed 2 so far.
I think for the numbers and the Conrail markings I'll need to change more and move files.
I'll update when I get to them.
I keep putting off working on it as I'm not stuck at home yet like most of the UK as I'm classed as an essential worker. Which would be fine if I had any work to do.
If I'm not furlonged by the weekend I'll get on with it anyway !!*ok*!!
