10k Tankers in the works for RWA, B&LE or Cascadian

Unread postby QcRail » Sun Nov 11, 2018 4:53 pm

Based on the G-TraX 8k and 10k tankers, I'm working on private shippers of petroleum and industial products,
These will increase our steam era tank car variety and offering.
So far ...

1- Two versions of SINCLAIR petroleum

2- Texaco in white

3- PHILADELPHIA QUARTZ CO.

... Working on GULF and, perhaps on the Rohm & Haas tank car !!*ok*!!

Your thoughts? *&!welcome!&*

Fantastic! This is what we would have loved to include with the route(s), but sadly we can't due to licensing restrictions.

(Don't blame DTG -- it's bad enough having to deal with a single company for the RR brand's licensing agreements, attempting this with gas, shipping, automobile and whatever other companies that one would like to include as models is unthinkable.)

Thank all for your feedback, it's appreciated and, Michael, I fully understand the delimma which is a stupid attitude on their part - we are enriching the historical content (if we have access to archives) and giving them further free advertising! but the irksome issue is that most companies have modernized their graphics and logos thus steam era graphics are long gone and sometimes difficult to trace. I could go on and on....

Michael on my last message, I did not make myself clear. Indeed we could use a 3 domes version of a tank car and my question is
Would you be interested in making one?

I have an idea to suggest - while using the existing USRA-tank_10k_carX as the shapefile, you could model a seperated dome (similar to the existing one with an identical texture mapping) that we could incorporate into a new .bin file as a child object - a solution light, flexible and adaptable. **!!2cents!!** . After that I, and few others, could have fun populating railroad spurs and sidings with colorful tankers. !*brav*!

Your thoughts...

Here are a few additions ...

A new fuel depot at Oneida Junction of the «RWA, A few years later» route. the GE44T is delivering 3 cars to to «Atlantic Chemical» (another added industrial spur); amongs the two versions of the Rhom & Haas chemical tank cars.

... Let's see a closer view

Notice the Gulf Oil tank cars in the oil depot spur.

... a Close-up of the Rohm & Haas tanker. The auto-numbering is a unique font used by R&H.
