From the magic hat!

I thought I'd occupied someone else's thread long enough.

The SD40 is obviously not mine! the caboose is about 2 hrs work so has a couple of issues and for some reason seems a bit flat. The boxcar ... well that was a bit longer. I tend to quietly put things away at 90% complete unless people prod me for them, so best I do this.

Nice to be protolancing, no worries about tiny details. I couldn't find exact prototypes for either model, so they're a combination. I promised someone I'd paint a UK industrial engine next, but after that I think I'm open to suggestions.

I thought I was the only one who habitually did this. *!lol!*

Nice repaints from what I can tell from the distance. !!*ok*!!

Better? 24xFSAA and still jaggies, heh.

Papa: many years ago I used to paint cars for various racing games, but until a few months ago I'd not touched any painting for probably 7 years... just practice & put absolutely everything in new layers so when you mess up it's not a disaster :)

they look awsome! I really like the caboose, too bad CN never owned the Standard wide vision caboose. they owned larger versions that had 2 stoves and were about 5-10 feet longer than these.

Yeah, I kinda had to just take some inspiration; I considered painting the extra windows in, but that would look absolutely awful. Still, it looks fairly representative, should be okay chugging up & down shortlines.

Okay, who knows anything about this model? where the hell is this black line down the side of this end coming from, it's not at the other end and I can't actually paint any more red sideways on the texture or I'll get a red roof.

Also what lunatic set up the window frames? I have half silver and half black now, where on earth is the black.

I did notice it appears to have black tinted windows, so there's hope for the amfleet cars if I work out how it's doing that.

Thought I had a thread somewhere...

Still, while no-one apparently wants this stuff I'm doing it anyway, because I want this stuff.

Maple leaf CN box I've posted before, but it's about done.

I don't know if anyone ever did a green CN GP9? another one I don't have a font for atm.

If you're sensing a certain theme about stock and locations, well... you'd be right.

I love those CN Pointe St. Charles Cabeese! I've been in the one in the Winnipeg Railway Museum, and it is so much bigger than the older Prairie Dog Central caboose (been in) and CP 437010 in Winnipeg Beach.

More GP9s is always good, especially if you're going to do CN green. The CN and CP transition-era liveries were beautiful.

It would be kinda cool to find plans for those big cabooses, they're quite distinctive.

Someone started ( and nearly finished ) a red & grey old CP GP9, but I can't find it in the library anywhere. I think I will do the CN one. CN cabooses were always red, there weren't any green ones?

i think it was ATSF that started a maroon CP GP9?

CN's old cabeeses ( !*roll-laugh*! ) were an odd red/orange (see my avatar for the correct colour) with the maple leaf logo.....but i do know CN did have some with yellow cupolas: http://www.northeast.railfan.net/images/cn78139.jpg

and the operation lifesaver caboose:
http://www.modeltrains.com/PICTURES/PIC ... B-1702.jpg

now since we are on the topic of old CN equiptment here is something for the old boxcars; CN had multiple logos for the boxcars:

Serves All Canada Logo: http://lariverrailroads.com/freight_car/cn540798.jpg (multiple variations of this logo, some all white, some green, some black, and each has a variation of the center tilted at about a 20% angle.

Canada`s largest railway: http://www.zscalemonster.com/mt/40boxcar/500-00-671.jpg

and some of the oldest ones don`t have that logo at all, and they are that odd orange colour!
