Need help adapting an F40PH repaint

Unread postby katyusha454 » Fri Aug 25, 2017 8:13 pm

I'm trying to edit the MBTA F40s from this site so they work with the Soldier Summit F40. Since the Soldier Summit unit is supposedly identical to the original standalone one the textures should be compatible, but it still won't show up after I edited the .bin files to point to the Soldier Summit unit. I'm still a noob when it comes to modding this game so I don't know what else to do to make it work. Any pointers?

Are you getting couplers or nothing to show up. The key lines in the bin file are as follows. Something like this. These guys need to point toward your new bin.
<GeometryID d:type="cDeltaString">RSC\F40PHPack01\RailVehicles\Diesel\F40PH\AmtrakPhaseIII\[00]f40ph</GeometryID>
<CollisionGeometryID d:type="cDeltaString">RSC\F40PHPack01\RailVehicles\Diesel\F40PH\AmtrakPhaseIII\[00]f40ph</CollisionGeometryID>

Nothing shows up whatsoever. And those two lines, along with everything else, have had the "RSC\F40PHPack01" section changed to "DTG\SoldierSummit".

OK here's what I did. I took the bin file from the Soldiers Summit locomotive and changed everywhere that it said AmtrakPhaseIII to F40PH-MBTA-1052. Then I used the SS Geo file. This is important because that bin doesn't like the RSC Geo. Bingo. If you need the bin I changed for a template holler and I'll send it to you.

If you wouldn't mind sending it to me, I'd really appreciate it. That way I can see exactly how you did it and I won't get confused. Thanks so much for helping me out with this.

It still doesn't work. Not even the bin you gave me for 1052 works. Could this be a conflict with FanRailer's physics mod somehow? Here are my bins if you want to take a look. The Phase 3 one is FanRailer's modded one, which works fine. The other is my attempt to adapt that file to work with MBTA 1001.

I wouldn't have any idea about a conflict with some mod. Probably. When you say it doesn't work?? Of course it does. I showed you a picture of it. If it doesn't work with some other mod you made then probably if you followed instructions then that would most logically be the cause. Unless I'm missing something your 1001 says exactly the same thing as mine.
