Is there a C30-7 repaint kit anywhere? I'd normally take the alpha layer and put it in the texture file but the alpha layer does not have the features of the main texture. Could someone help me out?

Can you take the texture layer and convert it to a black and white in your editor?

I don't know how though. I have photoshop, but use paint.net because I don't know how to use photoshop.

Do you use DXTBmp? Look at the options for alpha stuff.

Looks like it would be an easy enough model to repaint. Hopefully VRC releases a paint kit soon.

Yes I use DXTBmp.

It is an easy model. All VRC models are repainter friendly.

Unless he did something way different than on the U30 if you open the dds with DXTBmp you should get a alpha. Send it to editor(Paint.net) and you should have something that looks like this.

It appears it is different. This is the alpha layer for the C30-7:

I don't exactly know what you are trying to do, but I did not purposely do anything different to the alpha layers on these models. They simply control how much shine is present

I was hoping the alpha layer would look like this, where I could have a fresh template to edit the main texture with. But this was not the case with the C30-7's alpha.

I don't use the Alpha like that. I give everything a low grade shine and then lighten up only the areas that need more, like cylinder pistons and such.

Try "create a alpha template" See if that gets you where you want to go. You're going to force me to buy the darn thing just to figure this out and I'm so busy right now I don't know which way to turn around.
