Tie car request

Has anyone created or can someone make a modern tie car with ties since all we have in Marias Pass is an empty one, maybe a version with cement ties and one with wooden ties ??? This would complete a MOW train.

Just looked at the Marias Pass Users' Manual -- quite an assortment of freight cars, but nothing resembling the picture you provided. In fact, U.S> DLC packs are decidedly low on flatcars -- except for container flats. There's one that comes with the 4-8-8-4 BigBoy, but its only load is a Sherman tank. Over at Golden Age of Railroading, Michael Stephan offers several free flatcar packs with various loads ( http://golden-age-rails.com/packsrw/flat40.html ), but railroad ties do not seem to be among them. I could swear that I've seen railroad ties on flatcars in this sim, but cannot recall where.
Perhaps someone here at RWA might be willing to make the load you have in mind? Good luck!

The flat cars in Marias Pass are with excavators, front end loaders, and one interestingly called "empty tie car" but none with ties......go figure

I think they mean tie car as in for loads that are tied down with chains. !*cheers*!

Not sure what the rolling eyes are for !*don-know!* ... But the flat cars mentioned above, have nothing to do with railroad ties. They are chain tie-down flatcars, that's why the empty car is labeled as such.

It would be nice however to have more MOW type rolling stock available like the railroad tie flatcars and continuous welded rail cars.

Well the cars I mentioned are MOW and used for "tie" replacement and if that's the case why not just call it a "flat" car, we even have a MOW covered hopper...sheesh but than again it is TS

What's the MOW hopper you're talking about? I can't picture it in my head. But yeah, the picture you posted would be cool to have. The flatcars with Marias Pass are called chain-tie flatcars and are used for hauling those loaders and excavators.

It's actually a small covered hopper with orange lettering if I remember correctly, there is a scenario using it and the heavy equipment flat cars but not sure if it was a workshop scenario or from the Marias Pass route. I will see if I can locate it. Found it. Workshop scenario for standard called "Maintenance train to Kalispell"

Haven't we wandered about a hundred miles off topic here?

Didn't I add a post to this thread yesterday in which I tried to turn the discussion back to the image included in the OP? My comment was that, although the load of cement ties on the flatcar in that image is held in place by tie-downs, the point of the picture is the load of ties suitable to MOW operations, not the means by which the load is secured. Allow me to quote the OP: "Has anyone created or can someone make a modern tie car with ties since all we have in Marias Pass is an empty one, maybe a version with cement ties and one with wooden ties ??? This would complete a MOW train." The clear basis for my opinion lies in the latter part of the query: "a version with cement ties and one with wooden ties".

If expressing that opinion violated some obscure forum rule, please accept my apology for so doing.
!!howdy!!

I was talking about wandering off to talk about hopper cars not your comments.
