I have done my homework searching the forum but I have found some confusing results.
Here is how I understand this subject:
The flatcars have a "mass" parameter and a child cargo component with a "capacity" parameter, and which is different from the tank childs, which do not use any weight parameter beacuse they are only references to their GeoPcDx model.
1) I understand that the mass is the weight of the empty car and when the units are not defined, the indicated quantity is in metric tons (as it was in MSTS by default).
2) The capacity quantity in the cargo component child is the weight of the cargo when the car is 100% loaded and is also in metric tons when other units are not specified.
3) For any car you may specify a 40 or 50% or whatever load %. This is intended for bulk but can be used for boxcars and even containers or autoracks if I wanted an average loading.
However in this particular flatcar with two tanks loaded, I believe I should use a "mass" value with the full weight, that is the sum of the car LT WT plus the two Abrams weights. We are talking here between 150-155 metric tons gross weight.
Therefore in that case the capacity in the cargo component should be set to zero tons.
If I don´t do that any consist made with the the custom editor (QD) will leave those cars empty. In the Build scenario editor the cars are sometimes placed empty (others loaded) and their loading must be adjusted by right clicking it and adjusting the icon load.
What do you think about this idea of placing all weight in the mass and leaving the capacity in zero and am I right with the units I mentioned above?
Your comments will be very appreciated
