How Do I Fix EQ Pressure Needle?

I'm trying to fix the EQ pressure needle in the DTM UP SD45. The needle points to 200, however the heads-up display has the correct reading of 140.

Which line item in the engine.bin or simulation.bin file controls this?

Thanks,

Rob :D

I am not in my ts2016 to checkit but could be a misplaced needle center?

I think this is a core game engine bug.
Uncouple the lead locomotive and the EQ needle displays the correct value.
Couple back onto the consist and the needle jumps back to the incorrect maximum.

Hi Edwin:

You're correct here. Reminds me of the F59PHI power-car issue, same problem.

Take a look at these screen shots. It may be a fluke, but I tinkered - no science here - with the engine.bin file on the UP SD45 and got what seems to be accurate readings. I'm using a quick drive scenario on Donner Pass, which is a single loco with 30 100T UP hoppers. !**conf**!

One caveat - the train brake and engine brake seem to have lost all self-lapping ability. It could be from these mods, but I'm not sure. !*don-know!*

Here's the control value settings, which don't seem much different from the stock settings:

Air Brake - 200 PSI
Train Brake - 200 PSI
EQ Res. - 205 PSI
Main Res - 200 PSI

Also, I believe the gauges work properly in the SP SD45 model, but I don't see the difference if any in the engine.bin files when comparing. !*hp*!

A power car is essentially a locomotive in most incarnations.

My color highlighting is the key: a single loco displays normal EQ pressure, lash up a consist, and the pressures seem to be added up, maxing out at the gauge's max pressure from the blueprint.

Just confirmed it - you're correct. When you uncouple from a multi-unit consist, the gauges show the correct readings.
