I'd like to attempt to "finish" the graphics on the Acela loco.... and then complete the coaches.
It seemed like DTG had basically finished the train, (excluding a passenger view), but then there were changes that made the whole train, (especially the loco), look unfinished. I wrote to DTG about it, asking what their plans for that train were, and got no answer. So because things seem to move so slowly in Train Simulator / Railworks, I decided to try completing things myself.
I'm looking for a good clear and concise tutorial on how to do the Acela loco. A tutorial on uTube gave me SOME information but the guy went a little too fast for me to follow. This sometimes happens when the person making the tutorial knows what he/she's doing and sort of "skims" over some stuff, leaving novices behind. What I'm really hoping to find is RE-SKINNING THE ACELA LOCO FOR REALLY STOOPID DUMMIES!!!!! :) But I'll be satisfied with anything close... or just some info from anyone here that can help.
Here's what I see wrong with that train's graphics.
1. The loco looks darker than the rest of the train. The vents were modified, it seems, because moray patterns appeared on them at certain distances.
2. Shadows on the rubber borders around the coach-windows are missing on some of the cars.
At this point, I'd just like to concentrate on the section of the loco where the vents are. If I get anywhere with this, then I can go on to the other stuff.... and hopefully more! :)
There seems to be slightly different procedures for the different trains... so I was hoping to find a tutorial telling me how to work with the Acela.
Any help with this will be very much appreciated. :)
