P32AC repaint New Haven

Unread postby Litlesmall » Sat Jul 04, 2015 8:48 am

Im doing a repaint on the p32ac the only problem i have is how do you remove the numbers as well as the logos? They are not on the actual file when i do the repaint. Im currently do a new haven paint scheme so i need to move numbers to another location. Bumping this for experienced repainters to notice.
Most likely your original model is using auto-numbers. Moving these around is not trivial.

To remove the logos you'll need to find the texture file that has them and then black out the alpha channel. They have hidden the logos here steamapps\common\RailWorks\Assets\RSC\P32Pack01\RailVehicles\Passengers\Shoreliner\Driving Trailer\Engine\Textures\Shoreliner_Decals.TgPcDx

It seems that gimp and paint dot net works differently. I painted the alpha where the logo was black and also erases section in image on the decal files. That didnt work. Did it in paint dot net and it worked fine. Thxs unfortunately that deletes the logo on the shoreliner cars as well. For now thats ok. Im going to assume i have to do the same for the number and just paint in a number by hand

Ok, so I found a better way to keep the logos on specifically MTA Metro North on the cab and off the Engine. In C:\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Assets\RSC\P32Pack01\RailVehicles\Passengers\Shoreliner\Driving Trailer\Engine\Textures I created a duplicate decals file, Shoreliner_Decals1. In it I erased the metro north logo. Then I went into the repaint location C:\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Assets\RSC\P32Pack01\RailVehicles\Diesel\P32DC\NewHaven\Locomotive and edited the GeEOPCDX file and changed the engine directory to use the Shoreliner_Decals1 file. This erases the decal on the engine and leaves the Metro north decal on the Shoreliner cabs. Bazinga! Still cant Figure out numbering. Ah!!
