Cab Controls- Animation(Solved)

Unread postby aksingha » Sun Oct 26, 2014 10:26 am

Hi,
I have animated the throttle and is working fine in game, but i am not able to get other parts to animate. To animate the throttle, in 3ds max i changed the keyframes to 8(8 throttle moves), i am not sure if it is right. But now i want to animate the reverser, but since the reverser has 3 position, the keyframe must be set to 3, but doing so affects the throttle too. Can anyone please give any suggestions on how to animate several parts and get it working in the game.
I have another doubt about the reverser, the PickTransformName for reverser in the engine blueprint is "direction_control", so should i give 1_0000_direction_control to the reveser in 3ds max.

Hi,

Animating can controls is actually easier than you may think: The cab controls all require only simple two keyframe animations as far as I know. So the regulator would be from "off" position to "notch 8" in two key frames, the reverser from "reverse" to "fwd" in two keyframes, the brake handle from "release" to "emergency" in two key frames, and so on.

The RW core then takes care of determining the intermediate positions if any are needed, as set up in the engine blueprint. A few examples: - loco brake: "interior irregular notched lever" (two notches: Release and Direct)
- regulator: "interior notched lever" (9 notches)
- reverser: "interior notched lever" (3 notches)

Cheers

Thank you, both reverser and Throttle are working, but there is a new problem, When i move the reverser the throttle is also moving by itself, and the same happens when i move the throttle. How can i solve this.I have no idea
