"WIP shots of the SD70ACe. UP and DRGW liveries, both still awaiting a cab."
See the new pictures (they are too big to post in here, I hate the 1030 pixel limit !*not-ok*! ):http://railsimulator.blogspot.com/2010/10/sd70ace-on-track.html

Wow, the new images are amazing. Was really hoping they would release the Rio Grande heritage engine(my favorite engine of the whole fleet). Now I really can't wait to buy this engine. Great work. :D *!lol!* !!*ok*!! !*YAAA*! !*drool*!

If an image is wider than 1030 you can still attach it to a post. The forum software will resize it and make it a clickable thumbnail and clicking on it will show the image full size.

If you link to an image at another site the forum software will crop the right side of it down to 1030.

No need to hate something just because you don't understand it. *!rolleyes!*

As it states in the Rules and Guidelines:
Hawk wrote:
    * Images should be kept to a preferred maximum width and height of 1030 pixels, and a max file size of 500 KB.
Images larger in width than 800 pixels wide will be changed to a click-able thumbnail, 800 pixels wide. Clicking on the thumbnail will show the full sized image.

I set the max width at 1030 because I hate having to scroll left to right in a forum, and I'm sure there's a few others that don't care for that either.
That was always a pain in the butt over at the other place. It forces folks to have to scroll left to right whether they wanted to or not.
This way they have the option.

Here's an example using one of the images from the link you posted.

Thanks for the explanation of the 1030 limit. I have gotten so used to using 23" monitors that i'd not taken into account the side scrolling issues. This limit also makes it easier to view posts on a phone, which I do the majority of the time. I had to Ignore a guy over at "that other forum", not just because he is an unbridaled PIA, but also because he puts 19 huge pictures in just about every post to explain why he is always right. That takes forever to load on a mobile device.

@Railsimulator, stop taunting us already and gimme gimme gimme!

Anyone familiar with the inside of these things? Ever cab picture I've turned up of the inside of a SD70Ace the Throttle an Dynamics don't have all the notches painted out on the bezel like that. They all have the little window that shows what notch you're in.

Two possibilities: RS.com just doesn't want to make new levers for that loco (more likely), but it's still a WIP so it could change till release. !*salute*!
EDIT: As you can see on your two pictures, there are even slight deifferences between the versions.

It's minor, but I did notice it. Won't bother me at all but considering I saw gripes about window tint ( *!rolleyes!* ) already I'd imagine I won't be the only one who notices. (if it is indeed wrong, I honestly don't know and asking).

Yeah hopefully they make the levers true to real life.

Only time will tell. Again it's a minor techicality but I did notice it.

I must say, I had zero interest in this locomotive when it was announced as it was just another box on wheels (I'm not a big freight guy) but seeing the WIP shots, it's a beautiful beast and is a lot more than a box on wheels. :) Went from my 'I probably won't buy it" to my 'definitely buying" list.

Statement of Paul Jackson (CEO of RS.com) on Facebook about the SD70ACE versions: " I MUST somehow have given you the wrong impression Tom. We have listerned to you guys or we wouldn't have gone for the heritage fleet at all, so good call. BUT we wont be able to do more than one Heritage fleet livery (too our standards and... get UP approval) for release. I was trying to say we will get them all done eventually, at least thats the plan.
PS> I know they are trying to do more... but hay its starting to really burn the night oil."

So we'll only get the standard UP livery + DRGW Heritage Unit, the other heritage units maybe later. Can't say if I should be happy or just cry. *!sad!* :D
