But the hatches are round... by the way, why are their round and square hatches, why not standardize on one type?

The square hatches were an earlier (1930s - 40s) design replaced by the round ones in the mid 1950s.

There are Fords, Chevys, and Dodge's. They don't standardize, why should a train car manufacturer do that? Besides, AFAIK, any grain loading chute is gonna be round. You can fit a round peg into a square hole, but not vice versa.

Also true, but there are standards out there. 10' doors vs 6' on boxes, and then tankers... well almost all of them look the same. But MaineLines answered my hidden question, which was about 'when'. I never knew that by taking up this hobby I would end up becoming a history finatic. *!greengrin!*

The hopper looks great in the game, and runs perfectly without any problem. Will love to see what you will do next.

Thanks - I still want to to the more common version of this car with the open center triangle in the sides.
