Check out the textures on this CB&Q F7 by Michael Stephan. It looks pretty good.

OK, I think I've got it...

Not entirely prototypical, but a close approximation. Never did find any E7 pictures, jus E5s and E8/9s

I had to compromise, the model copies the skin area around the number board to actually make the extended portion. On a single color, not an issue, but when you do stripes it grabs them and does all manner of odd things. If you look at the E7 photos that Chessie posted, there are 4 cross stripes on the nose. Absolutely wouldn't work, so I used the E5 triple stripe combination. Who knows, maybe the first E7 was painted like the E5s... !*roll-laugh*!

I've been hunting for a good straight on Photo for the two axle Blomberg B series trucks. Mr. Cowen used a photo for the original texture, so I should be able to update it with a better photo. Also, I noticed that the Louvers on the "F9" were actually in the F7 arrangement. I edited the bump map, and relocated and duplicated the louvers, widening them, adding fins, and a blank in the center. Still not 100% perfect, but it is much closer. As you can see, I am having an issue with the Freight pilot darkening the color way down, looking for a solution.

I found a really good engineer's drawing of the Blomberg B. I copied it over the original texture, and here is the result.

Image

The 3D bump map worked perfectly with it. To colorize it, all it'll need is a clear layer to paint. These will work on the Britkits GP9 as well.

Also, note the new louver arrangement. It is closer to the F9 layout than before.

The F3 set is nearly done, I'll upload both when they are.

Umm, Mike, those trucks just don't look right. They look flat, 2D. I like the original black trucks. (boagies? I need a cuppa coffee)

In my opinion all the trucks need is the black outlines removed or make them alot smaller and just a small coat of dirt on them to show the outlines.

I found that the reason the trucks/bogies are so dark, is the the .geo puts a dark artifact over a bit of it. I finally got a softer, rusty colored skin, but the artifact made it look bad. Back to the default for now.

The F3 and F9 are now in Hawk's tender care.
