Thanks! Apparently my .psp converter was destroying the legend. For some reason, all of Mr. Cowen's .psp files throw an error in Gimp. !*don-know!*

Protip: http://www.testors.com/category/133505/Railroad_Enamels is a great source for paint chips.

Don't forget RW will add some environmental light colour to the texture colour - the amount depends on the specular map level. And, well, the material specularity too I think, but usually people don't seem to change that between materials.

When I fill my brushes, I always go to the darkest edge of these. They are formatted as a button, and go from bright light to near dark.

Sorry to mention this but when looking out of the cab the SP RS3 shows the Family Lines.

Odd, will check it out and fix it if possible.

added a bit later: All three of the RS3s I've repainted do that? I'll dig deeper and see if there's an easy fix. Head out view is fine.

Often just copying the Cabview folder into each livery folder fixes it ( and changing the reference to the cab geo, obviously ); otherwise you might have to poke in the cabview textures. Hopefully the cabview geo just has a relative path into the nearest engine texture folder.

yea, and view outside of the cab is fine, and surprisingly when you are in the cab in edit mode (strangely most of the cab controls disappear in edit more, but who cares).

So to repro, you must be in the cab mode view in play mode.

Apparently, this a known pathing error in the default 'rs3_cab_ndb.geo' file. However, Micheal Stephan (GreatNortherner) created a fixed cab view that works properly. It will take some .bin edits to fix, and I'll upload the patched locos in the next day or so. Thanks for letting me know about this, I'd missed it.

All three patched RS3s have been uploaded. Please read the readme! THe original file will have to be uninstalled for the fix to work.

Also, note that the SP set now has a CB (Cotton Belt) reporting mark under the loco number.

so, what's next? possibly some santa fe freight repaints on the DEFAULT F7? (similar to the blue stripe but with the cross on the front) there is one for the britkit f7 but it is payware.

Actually, a set of EMD/GM lease GP38-2s.... simple scheme and everyone can use them. *!greengrin!*

Or, just for fun:

Picture above is on a freeware F3 (which probably wasn't ever painted that way) from Britkits. The following set is on the Payware F7 and finished.

Image

I'll package it so that it can be used on the F3, F7, and F9. Of course you'll need to spend $7.00 to get the F7/F9 bodies.

I plan to do a bluebonnet as well, it's a mod of the Yellowbonnet and should be somewhat uncomplicated to do.

I finished the bluebonnet version last night.

I looked at the default F7 bodies, and they aren't mapped for the casual skinner. The main body is actually 5 different pieces, and stacks of unrelated bits and parts. It could be done, but it would take a couple of days fiddling the lines and color cuts.
