But if someone could convert one from MSTS or Trainz 12, that would be nice, I wouldnt want to put pressure on anyone for actually making the model though.

Unfortunately, no one can convert the item and release it free without the original artist's permission.

Such as no one could convert my scenery items to work for MSTS without my permission.

Honestly, I think Ill give it a try, find a MSTS Model of it, ask the original model creator's permission, then convert it to Railworks.

Hmmm... I think the very last model I released for MSTS was for that specific long tank car done up as a ADM C02 car.

How about something like this for the short tank car?

Image

Right now, just a static model. Am working to try and get it into the game, but its been so long since I've made anything that moves...I must be missing a step somewhere because I can see it as a scenery object but not as a wagon. Anyone have any thoughts? Plus I've worked on a long tank car (ethanol) and the RD-4 hoppers, too.

What kind of problems are you having? Train Simulator/Railworks is very particular about hierarchies and object names and totally unforgiving of typos in Blueprints.

Well, I'm not sure as far as what the issue is. I have created cars before and have never had this particular problem. I can create the .igs into a scenery object, but not into a wagon. When I create the wagon blueprint, the editor goes through and processes the preview with no errors and then when it gets to the shapeviewer, there is nothing to be seen, except the coupling arrows. I am using Blender 2.63, the exporter for TS20xx and TS2015. I can view all of my cars made before the installation of the latest exporter and TS2015, and the car I just made as a static, but not as a wagon. As a question, what does instanscible mean? There is a checkbox in the render section that is unchecked. Is that an issue? As far as the hierarchy and object names, I have the parents, children and main object set as I always do, and the exporter adds on the level and LOD prefixes. There may be a typo in the blueprint and I do need to use the fine tooth comb and go over it, which I haven't had time to do. Just wondering if there was a change since I last made a car...those of you who have seen my AutoMax cars know that I can build a model that goes into the sim, getting it to stay on the track, well...

Hi,

A model that fails to render when exported as rail vehicle could point to a missing or wrong dependency. Check your child objects (sounds etc.) and other dependencies, that they're all correctly set up (paths, names) and of course present in those places on the HD.

Instanciable is I believe a non-functional leftover from the earliest Kuju days and should be left unchecked.

Not sure if this could prevent a car from rendering, but you could also check the bogie blueprints and their links in the main wagon.bin. The pivot offsets (length-wise) must exactly match those in the actual model. Same goes for the group names, make sure bo01 is actually called bo01 everywhere -- no typos, no accidentally mixed up references (like bo02 in place of bo01).

Cheers
