You have to send them and email, they'll let you talk to a lady who is in charge of this license agreement. If you do a free downloads, you don't have to pay for it. If you do payware yea you got to pay. I think its a 2 year contract, maybe more. Yes I did contact CSX before. I had quite an experience when I first made Chessie System Big Boy for rw. So I talked to my sis and my mom. Both said no, the company can control you, however they want. They own it. Technically they're absolutely right. But I'm not sure ho it will work for you guys.

Who "needs" permission from CSX for an outdated "logo" when Peter's fonts were made specifically for this kind of stuff? !*don-know!*

My issue, is that I never heard back from them at all. If they are going to contract, then why can't RSC do the contract? Before I knew RW was officially licensed by BNSF, I wrote to BNSF and asked permission to use their logo for an up-coming engine. The lady answered me via email, and was very nice. She said the rate was $3 (yes that's three bucks) for a 3 year license. I also sent in a license use request form CSX had on their website, but 6 weeks later, still no response. !*don-know!* I'm thinking of writing to public relations via email.

Working with Eds Trains and some work with SLI for MSTS, I can tell you CSX are very manipulative and annoying to work with for licensing. KCS is worse, don't even bother with KCS licensing.

Why though? I would think they'd want their image in as many places as possible.

That could be a negative effect to their brand if it's used in a bad way. They might be afraid of that.

Because they do not want to see a You Tube video made by some 11 year old of a simulated train crash with their logos on the engines.

11 year old? LOL. Oh that was a good one.

Yea I remember she told me that they would like a clean logo, not something torn or scratch you know modified. That's their business not mine. Just sayin what she told me before.
