Before you post any XML I would like to know one thing. Are you editing a BIN or GEO file? The problem I was describing with the file size was with GEO files, not BIN.

Also you should not post GEO code here unless it was a freeware model.

Whoa! Good point.
It is a known problem that serz will not convert back a GEO file.

That's not completely true. MadMike and I edit GEOs all the time. The difference is that they are vary small.

I am just interested in editing the asset name of several locomotive repaints in my asset collection so that the asset names are a little bit more descriptive for my pleasure. I have a repalnt of the G-TraX SPS_700 Northerns that has a name assigned by the repaint author as simply "CO". I wanted to rename the asset as "CO600" indicating to me that asset in my personal collectionis a 4-8-4 Chesapeake and Ohio "Greenbrier" Class No600. My simple edit of the .BIN file for the repaint is constantly failing to recompile with an error "Expected Missing End Tag"

Just to be clear, you still get this error when doing this:
In Rw-Tools:
- File/open (or Ctrl-O) the bin file
- edit the name without overwriting the xml tag at the end of the line
- File / Save (or Ctrl-S)

That is a roger, Chacal

A friend just sent my his copy of SERZ.exe. I was able to successfully recompile the .xml to .bin with his copy. I had a suspicion that my bundled SERZ that came RailWorks was misbehaving. Now I have a working copy to play with. What a relief.
