I copied over the RI textures, and edited the bin file and everything is good. all thats left is changing the color of the numbers, and why the right numbers arent showing up even though i edited the numbers.dcsv file.. I have a sneaking suspicion that for the numbers, i missed something in the bin file.. We'll see.. Thanks for the suggestion Papa.. and thanks to Mike for a great update :) :) ..

Inside the \engine\textures\ folder there is a numbers.bin file that has to be edited to point to your directory. I have a set of black numbers for the 38 and I'll get them to you. They are in DDS format to make them easier to install.

Right there -> http://mdroaming.home.comcast.net/GP38-Black-Num.rar

Thats awesome mike. Thanks.. I went ahead and recolored the UP set. dont know if they're the right font or not but they work.. I'm not sure what the numbers problem was. i copied the dcsv file over to the UP directory and loaded a up engine and it had RI numbers.. So i copied it back to the RI directory and deleted the two engines i had on the tracks and the next one I loaded came up working fine..

I think this is about as complete as I can get it.. I still cant find where texture for the horizontal handrails is at, but i'll keep looking and if i find them, fix it up.. for the moment, i'm pretty happy with it.. I'll upload it in the next couple days..

OH.. and that Blue changes color.. depending on the time of day. It can look like robins egg blue or become a nice teal green.. The wonders of railworks :;lol::

Ive reskined this locomotive numerous amounts of times...and I dont even know where those handrails are besides under the cab in the .dds file.
Try looking around white colored areas, then start removing parts of white that you dont need. Make sure to check your engine every time you make an edit.
Thats what i would do.
Waiting for the next train back to Railworks!

Really nice job Pam! I've been working on a repaint of the 38-2 as well. Can anyone tell me where exactly the number boards are UVd? I need to change the background to white.

my guess on that would be in the details.tgpdx file ( sorry, just woke up. probably got the extension wrong ).. That file seems to contain all the little odds and ends like couplers, lamps etc..

Oh, and I added in Krellnuts sound pak last night as well.. having worked with airplanes rather intensely for the last seven years, i've come to take praises and adulations with more than just a grain of salt.. Even ones of my own work. in fact, i'm a total sceptic.. Well, i got this seven channel 1200 watt surround sound system by yamaha that my computer plays through and i'll tell ya, i cried. Thats the sound that kept me awake all those stormy nights as a kid. Thats exactly what every train should sound like ( in my opinion ). The bass note just rolls through you. Its awesome.. Thanks Krellnut :)..

I'll start work on a couple more Rocks in the next day or two.. Now that i've got my brain rearranged on working with bin files, it should be fairly simple., First up??

And then I'll get you folks this one.

Yeah I really thought the 4 little black rectangles in the bottom left corner was spot on. Turns out they arent. If you look at them up close in game , they look have have some tiling to them which has thrown me off.

Look on Map2 center right, below the fan rings. There are two black rounded corner rectangles. I believe those are the number board backs. But, since they are next to the smokestacks, they may be the inside of the stack.

Are you folks using my gp38 template?
