Yes, this is is the ex-Knox, Kane & Kinuza locomotive. The Valley Railroad bought it after it was badly burned when the former owner's engine house burned down. The rebuild was done at Essex, including a replacement cab done in the arched-window style common to most New Haven power. As such, the SY's Alco heritage is very much evident, with 3025 resembling the I-1s at first glance. This shouldn't be surprising, given that Alco had a standard, scalable design for both 2-8-2s and 4-6-2s built around a common set of boilers and appliances, that could be built in a number of different sizes and weights. The metal may have been bent in China, but the lines are classic Schenectady.
