sd40-2 cab

Unread postby ELITE620 » Thu Jun 13, 2013 1:19 pm

Hi all

I recently bought the bnsf sd40-2 add-on for the marias pass route. The sd40-2 has an amazing new cab!, is it possible to replace the cab on the other sd40's? e.g. sthe standard up sd40 or the sp sd40t-2.

Regards Nick!

I would say yes. Do you know how to change bin folders?

Who does think that on both the SD40-2 and the new GP38-2 the windscreens in front of engineer and fireman are just a bit on the small side?

Does somebody have a good straight forwards cab interior view and corresponding head on shot from the outside for comparison? I have the impression the window openings are smaller from the inside.

Also, the wipers wipe a rather small area of the windscreen and the handles on the inside don't move. I think these handles move with the wipers and allow the crew to help them a little when there is heavy snowfall.

It is possible the hack the .ban animation?

Well I just determined that you cannot just swap the cabview folders around. That doesn't work so something else needs to be done. I might find time to mess around with this on the weekend while watching the US Open. Maybe someone else will jump in here. I'll keep an eye on this thread.

You probably can just redirect to the MP engine's geometry files from the old engine's blueprint.
Look for the Interiorinterface node:
Code: Select all
<InteriorInterface>
   <cControlContainerBlueprint-cInteriorInterface>
      <InteriorGeometryID d:type="cDeltaString">BritKits\Alco\RailVehicles\Diesel\RS3\SP\CabView\[00]w-RS3-Cab-db-RW3</InteriorGeometryID>
      <NumberOfCabs d:type="cDeltaString">eSingleCab</NumberOfCabs>
      <InteriorCamera>
         <iBlueprintLibrary-cAbsoluteBlueprintID>
            <BlueprintSetID>
               <iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID>
                  <Provider d:type="cDeltaString">BritKits</Provider>
                  <Product d:type="cDeltaString">Alco</Product>
               </iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID>
            </BlueprintSetID>
            <BlueprintID d:type="cDeltaString">RailVehicles\Diesel\RS3\Default\CabView\Cab camera.xml</BlueprintID>
         </iBlueprintLibrary-cAbsoluteBlueprintID>
      </InteriorCamera>
      <CabOcclusion>
         <iBlueprintLibrary-cAbsoluteBlueprintID>
            <BlueprintSetID>
               <iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID>
                  <Provider d:type="cDeltaString">BritKits</Provider>
                  <Product d:type="cDeltaString">Alco</Product>
               </iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID>
            </BlueprintSetID>
            <BlueprintID d:type="cDeltaString">Audio\RailVehicles\Diesel\RS3\Cab\RS3_Cab_Occlusion.xml</BlueprintID>
         </iBlueprintLibrary-cAbsoluteBlueprintID>
      </CabOcclusion>
   </cControlContainerBlueprint-cInteriorInterface>
</InteriorInterface>

Change the value for InteriorGeometryID to be the same as the one for the MP engine.
You may have to change also the InteriorCamera blueprintID, or maybe not.
