Changing rolling stock folders

Unread postby artimrj » Sat Mar 02, 2013 10:41 am

Can anyone tell me for sure if I would change the folder of a piece of rolling stock would it corrupt a scenario it was made for? Do you know what info is referenced in the scenario? Is it just the name or is it looking at folders too?

I have been wondering about it as I would like to move all my repaints that are in the Kuju folders to my NERW developer folder.

It will come up with the sign that says the consist is missing because the path will be wrong I'm pretty sure. I've had that happen several times. When I go to RW Tools and find the asset and substitute the new one with the same name then it's happy again because it has the new path. At least I think that's how it works.

OK thanks guys, but that is too much for work for over 80 scenarios. I want to put Dick Cowen's couplers in another folder and reference them and hoped I could move the cars as well. But I can use the couplers and just have to re-alias where they are. I grow tired or re installing mods after each verify or update and the couplers keep getting over written.

Bob, just automate the process with a script.
I just did a verify and reinstalled all my mods in 30 seconds flat with a double-click.

Automation is a beautiful thing.

Yeah I have that all set up but I always forget to run it, then remember while in game as things are not right.
