Stack cars

Unread postby hermit9153 » Wed Sep 26, 2012 1:27 pm

Is there any technical reason why there are no Greenbrier (formely Gunderson) articulated double-stack cars in RW, like the Maxi-Stack I or Maxi-Stack IV?
Trainz has them and unless there is something that eludes me, I don't see a reason for not having them available in RW3/4.
I had already set up a Maxi-Stack I in Gmax for Trainz (now redundant on my PC) and I think I'll finish it for RW.

Someone has to build the models. Not too many freeware 3D modelers around. The ones that are around are already doing multiple projects.

Would like to see the articulated cars as well, and perhaps the early 2 axle well cars also.

Somebody has to model them from scratch or convert an MSTS.

What basically put me off in the beginning was doing the bogeys, but there are plenty of those around to use. Getting the articulation to work on the bogeys doesn't seem that hard, it's the scripting that sort of worries me. Oh well, I'll give the model a go first and then cry for help if I run into scripting problems...

Railworks has longley needed articulated cars! If this goes through it WILL be a ground breaker!

Any preferences like in: Thrall, Gunderson, NSC? I personally favor the Gunderson Maxi IV, but in the end I think they should all be modeled.
Whatever it will be, it'll come with a full paint-kit, so anybody can paint his favorite skin, reporting mark, whatever.

Is anyone working on these or is it just a thing wished by all?
