New Cab Paint WIP - SD40-2

Unread postby MontanaRails » Sun Oct 09, 2011 4:46 pm

I got tired of all the wood handles in the cab of the SD40-2, so I repainted parts of it, darkened other parts, added a brownish color to the cab walls, added instrument aging/wear, and added a radio texture (its a small texture, so it comes out crude, but its all we have to work with). I'm going to try to tweak the radio texture, but I'm afraid it will have to go...its just not working.

Just an experiment.

Looking great!

You might be able to get a slightly better looking radio by using this image or something similar:

http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.p ... 31&nseq=44

Or is it the actual texture size of the cab mapping that's giving you trouble? Either way, looking really good!

Yeah, the only texture map it references is very small, the original image I got the radio from was pretty high resolution, and thats how it turned out. So, I just gave up on the radio idea and reverted back to the other blank textures.

This cab is available in the Conrail pack by me here in the library.
