Sly,

This includes videos of the California State Railway Museum's Granite Rock #10:

Eventually you'll want to make custom sounds for this locomotive, too, rather than use the default steam sounds.

One more source for you with a few photos, plus hit the "i" on the Friends of the Valley Railroad to see restoration photos including a couple backhead shots to aid in proportioning. Most of the other "i" links seem broken, but the photos all work. Most aren't exactly what you want, but the site is still very interesting!

Hi,

Yes I will be skinning it,
UP probably so it sits with the fleet.

I am in 2 minds what to do with the cab.
I don't have any ref to make it.
One thought is to leave it without a cab, another thought is to take the gubbins from the sd40 and put them inside the shell of the sw1500 so that you can drive it from inside.
Be intrested to hear peoples thoughts on this.

I have no sounds so again I will have to take from another diesel.
Still, nice to have something new.
regards

RE sounds. The SW1500 has apparently a non-turbo 645. John Means is/was producing a set so he might have suitable sounds. There is a thread over at the MLTdownloads http://frankoburns.proboards.com/index. ... 795&page=1

Maybe ask him?

I would much prefer it have the sd40 cab controls shoved into it so it could be driven from the inside than nothing at all, but that's just my opinion. I prefer to drive all engines from inside the cab rather than outside.

I hope you are able to find what you need! Thanks again for all your hard work.

I've just ordered a book on SW1500, so maybe that will shed more light on the cab.

Till then I will look at improving the mapping and texturing. I'm amazed there is so little on the net about it.

If anyone does have any cab pics please get in touch and I'll see about putting in the correct cab.

Hiya,

Yes sorry, well.

Since I did this I managed to get a full set of engine ref shots, still no cab shots tho, and I'm still wondering what to do.
I think sly has offered to put his loco in the Project platform product that RS.com plan to do early in Jan now due to the team needing a rest after a long and hard year.

I will put up some images soon of the SW, it is looking nice if I do say so myself.

regards
