Alpha Channels

Unread postby shicoe30 » Thu Sep 29, 2011 6:47 pm

Hey y'all,

I've been doing some repaints as you may have noticed. All my paints are coming out way too shiny/glossy. As I've been told, this is a matter of alpha channels. My only problem is I can't seem to get to/edit my alpha channels. I use paint.net, which might be my problem. Any help on how to edit em would be greatly appreciated.

I use a program called DXTBmp for my alpha channels. What you do is open your repaint in DXTBmp and under the Alpha menu, click on Create Alpha Template. This will automatically generate a greyscale copy of your image and use that as the alpha channel. Then just save and import the repaint and it should no longer have that glossy look to it.
