Horn Not Working

Unread postby LoganTMT » Fri Oct 23, 2020 12:27 am

Hey Guys,

So I'm having an issue with the RRMods and Searchlight Simulations Content. So I've been working on a custom reskin of the BN GP40-2 using the RRMods UP GP40-2 and yes I know it's not exactly the right details, but it's close enough for my virtual documentary series I'm doing. Anyways, I was finally finished and went to copy the audio from the BN SD40-2 RS3K Horn and use it for the GP40-2, well I got everything working and changed all the file locations within all the bin files, but the horn was blank. no audio would play when I blew it...Can one of you guys help me figure out why this is the case?

Thanks,
Logan Thurman

did you move the horn audio files from the donor BN unit or is it still in it's original location. If it's still in the original location you need to enable "tick" the BN sd40 in the DTG editor so it uses those files.

It's the JR SS BN SD40-2 Audio and yes, I've made a copy of the files and moved it to the GP40-2 Audio folder to make it easier to locate, but it doesn't want to work... !*don-know!*

something has to be missing. An extra space or quotes or a line misplaced. I can be one little thing and it bombs the whole line. I know you've double checked everything but double check again or even try from scratch just for the horn portion. Is the engine bin file pointing to the correct horn bin and the horn bin pointing to the correct xml file? there is so many steps that something can go wrong.

I'm sorry but I'm out of Ideas. I don't have the BN pack to try it myself.

This will not work. Without referencing two additional script files in the main GP40 engine script, you won't ever hear anything and before you ask, no this is not something you could do yourself. Only I can but since we've cut ties with RRMods a long time ago, this won't happen.

I suggest you apply the freeware RS3K from here https://www.store.searchlight-simulatio ... io-index-1 instead.

It work's without any scripting and therefore can be used on virtually any rolling stock.

Welp, I finally fixed it, now I just wish I had the audio to the RS5T from the MKT SD40-2s, cuz that would be so awesome for the BN GP40-2 #3040, #3044, #3046, #3049 and ext. Then I'll have specific engines represented with the RRMods GP40-2 for the 1980s.
