Just an Update PRR E6

Unread postby RailWanderer » Wed Jun 24, 2020 10:25 am

Just an Update, PRR E6, Darlan has released a weathered version of the PRR E6 Atlantic 4-4-2, so the download is two versions in one, clean & shiny and weathered. The weathered textures are courtesy of Francisco Núñez Franco. Great job Francisco. We are always glad to share these assets with the community, enjoy. https://digitalrailroadingco.powweb.com/dr/motive-power/steam-locomotives/

Nice work. I would like to see that color palette applied to the RSC k4 as well.

We have talked about this, but in all reality, the RSC K4 needs more work. And we realize it is an old model, things were different back in the day.

Best to ask RSC to do that with the K4, it's their engine anyways.

Always happy to see more PRR steam in TS. It's a shame that there isn't more of it by now, especially as HSC is pretty well set up for both steam and diesel on the PRR. I would have thought we'd have seen the likes of the M1 or I1s by now.

We are still at it, all I can say is don't hold your breath. Some more of that alphabet soup is coming. And also the New Portage Freight Route added to the HSC route. Oh crap, did I say that? dtrainBNSF1 you might want to get hold of Darlan(DSGDDR) when you have time in regards to your results of the K4 boiler and steam usage test you did.

It'll be a bit, but I'll see if I can dig it up and refine it some more when my new laptop gets here before I talk to him about it. Most of my more in-depth notes are stored in a cloud with OneNote. I saw one paper years ago (can't fine it anymore - could've sworn I saved the pdf somewhere) stating the K4s steam production to be about 51110lbs/hr. I was getting into speed and power trials when everything went to pot with my current laptop making the game nearly unplayable with my current specs.

Oh and I didn't mean anything to you specifically when I mentioned the M1 and the I1s. I just meant I was surprised that developers in general hadn't done much with PRR steam since the release of the HSC seeing as, in my mind, that would be low-hanging fruit for anyone who wanted to model them.

No offense taken, believe me.

Thanks for your good work. Thomas Pearce and I are working in the PRR Panhandle Division in the steam to diesel era. Your models will be awesome there.

Thanks Harry, we look forward to seeing your work.

The HSC extension route is coming along, I added some screenshots of Tyrone where I have been working lately. Nothing too dramatic.
