Trying my hand at Weathering

Unread postby Alpenfreight » Sun Sep 23, 2018 8:34 pm

Tried my hand at weathering tonight and dirtied up the BNSF ES44DC a little bit. So many different textures to repaint, in total I think I had to do 12 separate textures to get it this far. It's not a super heavy weathering but I think gets rid of that 'clean' look that all the engines come with.

Roughly based on this:

Looking good! !!*ok*!!

Trucks and fuel tanks get dirty so quickly that every repaint should have them, in my opinion.

Cleaned up a few things that bugged me. I think I've got this one done:

Which DLC are these for? Or do they work with the StP, Marias, and separate ES44DC?

I specifically did them with the Marias DLC. I imagine they would work with the Steven's Pass DLC as well, but I have not tested that. I was actually surprised to see the stand-alone H2 ES44 DLC is actually slightly different in modeling and required some rework.

It wasn't my original intent to release this but I am happy to share with anyone who wants it. I need to familiarize myself with how people share repaints and what files are ok to share or not. By in large the livery is the original, so I am not sure if that gets into a weird copyright area. Is there any guide for that kind of thing?
