Color glitches

Unread postby ATSF3814 » Thu Jul 07, 2011 7:14 pm

After taking a closer look at a couple of my repaints, I've noticed these strange color anomalies in some of the darker colors. They only appear when you view the locomotive at certain angles though:

What's causing this and how do I get rid of it?

This is likely the result of texture compression. If you don't mind the extra files size and loading times (not to mention a performance hit if too many are used), you can create an uncompressed version of the texture (rename texture_name.ace to texture_name_nm.ace before exporting). Note that if you don't have the original model, you'll need to export the texture and rename it so that it's available to the loco.
Cheers!

Thank you very much Marc. You were right about it being the texture compression and I managed to fix it.
