Decrease Headlight splash output (During Daylight)

Unread postby Angelo » Thu Jul 21, 2016 9:56 am

Hey guys, so far regardless or engine, running in the day with the headlights on washes out all trackside signage and makes speed limits, CP Signs, Mileposts difficult to see.

Is there a way to edit the locos light cast files and reduce the light intensity and or reflective properties? I just want to be able to run with the headlights on and soften or eliminate the cast washout the lights emit when shining on signs etc in day light runs.

Many of the newer locomotive DLC have a setting on the headlight control called 'dim'. It is the first setting clockwise on the in cab switches. This will lightly illuminate the headlights and ditch lights (if equipped) but not actually illuminate the track and assets in front of it.

Right, the rolling stock I am talking about are some of the older stuff, such as the Amtrak Surf, Metrolink and Coaster equipment where no dim position exists.
