CNJ 50t Offset Side Hopper

This model is a Central Railroad of New Jersey reskin of Michael Stephan’s 50t Offset-Side Coal Hopper. The freeware BN and Predecessors Freight Packs can be downloaded at http://www.stephan-michael.de/railsim/p ... herit.html . I created this reskin as part of the Northern Anthracite Project (http://blackdiamondworkshop.weebly.com/ ).

The Central Railroad of New Jersey was a New Jersey institution for years although it was only regional in operation and was, at its peak, only 711 miles in length. The Jersey Central served much of New Jersey along with northwestern Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C. via a partnership with the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad. The demise of the CNJ was the result of a number of factors including a region too saturated with railroads, stiff government regulation, and markets already served by more efficient competitors. However, for all of these setbacks it did not help that the railroad was taxed so stiffly by the State of New Jersey that this also ultimately led to the railroad’s bankruptcy and inclusion into Conrail in 1976.

Run the RW_AssetSetup.exe file to install the model. The unit will be installed to Assets\GreatNortherner\GNRy\RailVehicles\Freight\70t-Hopper\CNJ. In the scenario editor it is listed as “Hopper 55t offs CNJ.”

If you have problems you can post a message in the support forums at the Railworks America website. This package is released as freeware. You can do whatever you wish with it EXCEPT make money with its use.
