Bell on Britkit GP9

Unread postby buzz456 » Wed Sep 04, 2013 10:53 am

@ Diego or anyone else that can help. I am working on some GT re-paints on this thing and can not seem to locate the bell and mount. I got about half of it the right color but am still lost about where the thing is at. I have spent hours messing with this and have about thrown in the towel. Both the black and the blue version are about done except for that.

HELP!

Hi Buzz,

Which version of the GP9 are you working with? So far I've had a go at the high-hood reversed passenger version and the HH non-reversed GP7 model (which is very similar).

The bell and support are separate. The are textured near the handrails in numbered blocks 24 and 25 (assuming you have the legend turned on).

Here's a capture of that portion of the template as reference. I *know* it works on the HH reversed version with the high end-mounted bell. Not as sure about the versions with the bell under the body since not as easy to find / see.

Hope that helps!
Diego

Thank you. I'll see if that solves my problem.

A few more things that occurred (because the same thing happened to me with the boiler texture):

1. Believe the bell and support are fittings, so they read from the copy of the texture that you put in the fittings subdirectory.

2. Make sure your main texture exists in all the possible naming permutations for the different versions of the GP9 model. I specifically saw instances where one part of the model referenced the expected texture name, but another (like the fittings) read from one of the other variously named files.

Let me know if i can help,
Diego
