[NEED HELP] SW1500 reskin

Unread postby Noel » Tue Aug 20, 2013 2:55 pm

Hey guys.

I am trying to make a skin for the SW1500, but when I try to import the .dds files into RSBinTool, all I get is this error message:
Image

What am I doing wrong? I am saving it as DXT3 Explict Alpha (as I always have). I have even tried loading up saved files from when I was still working on it and they didn't work. I got the same message.

What should I do? I put 4 hours into this skin I am making, and I do not want to have to redo it.

Thanks,
Noel.

In the lower left corner of RSBinTool what is it saying the original image format is?

I see it, but what I don't understand is how to save it as that type of file.

I tried using CS2, but it never worked, so I am using Paint.net, as I don't have 500 dollars for a Photoshop subscription. How would I save the .dds as a 32bpp ARGB?

Down in the corner it should say Compression:DXT3 Format ARGB-DXT3. The one you are saving from DXTBmp should say at the top whatever-BMP:1024x1024-24bit. It might say 512x512. You add the alpha by importing or make a template and then save as a DDS. Make sure in the box it says DDS DXT3 for the type.

The import should work then when you say import DDS data.

Let us know.

DXTBmp? I am not even sure what that is supposed to be. I've never heard of it.
I am using Paint.net and RsBinTool to make these texutres.

What I am trying to figure out is how to save a 32bpp ARGB using Paint.net.

I have no idea. Is this the first time you tried this? I save my file from Paint.net as a BMP then open it with DXTBmp (it's a program you can easily find) then add the alpha and save as a DDS. Someone might know somehow else but that's how both Joe and I do it.

Nevermind. I figured it out. I was having a brain fart. *!embar*!

I finally got it. Sorry I sounded so rude.
