Could we start a thread to discuss "Loco Lighting Enhancements" - both methods and techniques? I am "foaming" over the beautiful new, most recently released RSC locos with Glowing and Shining Head lights, back-lighted Number Boards, Step lights, illuminated Cab Gauges and Instrumentation, etc. I have collected lots of RW3 repaints with no enhanced loco lighting at all that look anemic compared with the new stuff. And I challenge our cadre of Community Repainters to add Lighting Enhancements to all new repaints and maybe persuaded them to retro-fit all their older stuff. Or more importantly, pull the curtain back to reveal the coding that makes latest RW lighting enhancements work so that us newbies can do it for ourselves.
I have tried and failed to learn the secrets. And I consider myself fairly intelligent when it comes to XML coding. But the methods are alluding me in my studies. I still cannot successfully add a shining head light or flashing ditch lights to any of my older assets. And I have spend lots of hours trying, trust me.
I know I sound like a Broken Record, but...
We need a "how to" tutorial like ones that Marleyman and PapaXpress and Machinist and Chacal and several others have already published for doing Repaints - specifically for adding "Loco Lighting Enhancements". Period.
