Unread postby Cardinal51 » Sat Dec 09, 2023 10:02 am

Hi all,

I reguarly visit the Horseshoe Curve live cam . . .

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUsqRzCUa-4& (time 7:37:44 shows the engines)

. . . and today I decided to try to replicate a consist I saw going up the slope..

Engine NS 10?? (can anyone read the number?)
Engine NS 4312

According to the interweb Engine 4312 is a GE AC44C6M.

Is this engine available in TSC ? I could not locate it in my consist editor.

No, there aren’t any AC44C6Ms in TS. If you really want to just use a dash 9 instead. The unit with the 10 is probably an SD70ACE.

Thanks. Nice that it is on Steam. Makes it easy to install and reinstall. I noticed it is not the SD70ACE but the SD70ACU

Well... . . . it became a dang long train . . .

Image

Whenever I could I picked LD (loaded) and not MT (empty) but in a lot of cases there is no such choice, would those be loaded or empty ?

But dang, I get this error when starting in Altoona . . .

Image

. . . but not when starting in Galitzin.

Why is that ? Is the track at Altoona too short perhaps ?

Consider that a rare find. NS only has 6 units, and all mostly run in the New Jersey area. Probably just got maintenance done at Juniata. Though the number probably isn't 1706, as NS doesn't have a unit with said number.

If you want it in TS, here's a reskin for the ATSF SD45-2. https://railworksamerica.com/index.php/ ... e-repaints
