It happened in 2022 I believe BNSF finally agreed to world wide licensing. Article here: https://live.dovetailgames.com/live/train-simulator/articles/article/bnsf-routes-releasing-worldwide
It was a pretty big deal at the time, sorry you missed it.

Marias pass never had an unbranded version. But yeah the BNSF licensing stuff got solved last year finally.

Yes, many gamers overdo it and are way too many hrs behind their screens. Luckily my screen time is limited, playing TSC2023 about two hrs a week. Been doing that for decades.

And when I am fed up with all the crashes and errors I stop playing for a year/half a year or so. That happened many times since Railworks moved from hardcopy to steam.

But this time the game runs good. Seems DTG finally steered the required resources towards the game and made the decission that there is a future for Train Simulator !!*ok*!!

Is that light shining through the bridge deck a TSC issue or route issue ?

It is an 11/12 year old route and TS had gone through a number of changes since. Not a chance in h--l that it will get resolved and life's too short to set hares a racing about such like.

That is why I asked if it is a TSC issue or route issue. Fom your hair story I deduct it is not something that happens on a modern route. That is good to know. Thanks!

Issue or feature ...
This can have two causes: The loco's lights do not cast a shadow or the bridge lets light through unhindered.
I would assume first it's the non-shadow casting light of the loco. Casting shadows is consuming processor time.
Because not everyone has a racehorse as a computer, the content creators hold back with the requirements.

I do not know which was the machine you are driving.
Hiline's ES44DC is the same like the one from MariasPass. Go to the product folder and check the blueprints in RailVehicles\Diesel\ES44DC\BNSF\Lights\
Look for <CastShadow d:type="bool">0</CastShadow>
Set it to 1 and test it.
With MLWaudio's soundpatches it's the same, but in MLWAudio\GE-GEVO-12\GEVO-12\HeadlightFlareEnhancement\

Here the bridge's deck is a loft inside RSC\MariasPass : bridge_Viaduct_Flathead_loft.XSec
All 4 objects inside this loft cast shadows --> the bridge is ok !

Time to check this was 10 minutes by the way ...
