Unable to complete Heavy 1 rev 1

The session is asking me to stop at the sidings in Winton, however whenever I stop i get a scenario failed message due to not being allowed to stop on the Chmstick re-alignment when going uphill with such a large train.

The same thing just happened to me. Maybe you need to stop the rear of the train at the indicated point? I don't know.

Aside from this, when you reach Monitor earlier in the scenario, the window text that is supposed to warn you about the 15 MPH speed reduction at the station is way too small to display the text correctly. Probably if it wasn't for the image it may display correctly.

EDIT - Well, I have tried the scenario once again and stopped with the rear of the train on the marked siding at Winton hoping it would make any difference, but it doesn't, it still finishes the scenario even though the train is well past the uphill section where it can't be stopped. I sense the scenario is just broken.

EDIT 2 - I decided to mess with the scenario editor a bit and change the stop order at Winton into a passing through order, and I was able to reach Berne. In fact at the very end of Winton you finally overtake the passenger train that causes all the yellow signals, and the "no stopping" order ceases. I hoped this would be enough to make the scenario playable, but when I reached Berne the scenario did not finish after stopping at the station. When you check the tasks on the map it zooms into the very first task of the scenario. To be quite honest I have no idea how to fix this.

You are correct, the error preventing the successful completion of the scenario apparently originated in scenario revisions made upon the completion of the western addition of the route. A revised and corrected version will be posted as soon as possible. For those who enjoy editing scenarios, the most significant change can be accomplished by changing the "stop at" to a "go via" instruction at the Winton East marker. This will allow you to run the scenario to the end, but you will have to manually end the scenario after stopping at Berne. Other minor changes will be made in the version 2 of the scenario.

Thank you for the comments. *!!thnx!!*

Thanks for the reply, Jim. Glad to know a patch is coming soon. I was able to fix the error at Winton myself, but the lack of scenario finish is something that's still beyond my capabilites. I see you use LUA in addition to the editor, that's something I have to learn. Until a few months ago I was working on a scenario for the Sacramento Northern route, I may resume it sometime.

Sorry about the issue. The revision is being uploaded today and should be available soon. I hope that this revision will also appear with an upcoming Cascadian Route update as well. Since the Sac Northern was also a product of the G-TraX team, I would be interested in seeing an early version of your scenario. Now I've attempted the revision 2 of the scenario and I'm glad to say I was able to complete it successfully, even though the briefing said I only stopped at one of two destinations. I'm pretty sure I did everything correctly. Still, it counts as a success so I'm satisfied.

Yeah, the end-of-scenario report can be easily confused by scripted scenarios like Jim's, there's nothing the scenario author can do about that. It goes so far that scripting even allows to force trigger an (un)successful termination of a scenario at any time during its running, no matter how many check marks the player has "scored".

Cheers!

After figuring out how to use the regenerative braking system I attempted the second part, however right after leaving Cascade Tunnel I'm having a problem. The scenario orders me to go through the main track of Scenic, but the switch at the entrance of the station, automatic like most of the switches on this route, is stuck on the secondary track instead, and I can't possibly set it to the main track. The signal is giving me a yellow into the second track, but I'm not actually supposed to go there. Do I need to wait for the switch to clear my way? I see there is an AI train on the second track that goes backwards to the other end of Scenic.
